Welcome to the Lower School Science website! The LS Science program focuses heavily on the use of technology, both in instruction and assessment. The goal is to introduce the children to concepts and then guide them through creative projects and hands-on exploration in order to expand their understanding. The lower school science program has developed into one that allows the children to use technology, creativity and their own individual learning styles to show understanding. Fostering interest in a way that will promote lifelong learning in the scientific fields is also an integral part of the program. This year’s addition of the Discovery Science curriculum as an alternative to a traditional textbook will engage young learners while reinforcing important literacy skills through inquiry-based learning.
